Each installation features a pixelated photograph from McCray’s documentary archives of moments of protest, resistance, anarchy, or raw human emotion partially obscured by stenciled fictional figures. At first glance, they resemble playful urban pop pieces; through AR activation, they unveil their hidden histories, offering an unfiltered look into the stories the world tried to forget.
This series invites the public to become participants in uncovering the truth through interaction, curiosity, and movement.
Beneath every censored image lies a deeper narrative about the manipulation of media, the politics of visibility, and the resilience of the human spirit.
